Role purpose

  • Support Biologicals Business Manager in design and execution of Biologicals business plan
  • Fully responsible for the technical part of the CU Biological product strategy & positioning incl. trials planning and budget management
  • Hold critical internal and external crop expertise across a range of agronomic and market conditions with focus on Biologicals
  • Build the interface between RU-Kazbec Biologicals Portfolio Manager, CP Marketing, CPD and Technical/Sales teams in the Sales Regions
  • Build relationships with the key country / regional stakeholders, selected customers and key industry technical influencers according to selected crop with focus on Biologicals
  • After full alignment with CP Teams actively participate in design, communication, and implementation of technical crop solutions for the assigned crop with focus on Biologicals
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise (e.g. launch platforms) tailored to the crop strategy in the CU (positioning & competitor comparisons) for individual products
  • Establish technical expertise and network required to drive successful 5Y SMS Marketing Plans, the Portolio decisions and the build of strong Brands
  • Interacts and collaborates with EAME Biologicals Team including EAME Biologicals Technical experts

Accountabilities

  • Provide/validate/evaluate technical elements of crop and brand strategies at CU crop level (technical assumptions, technical stories including competitors)
  • Drive Technical Launch Plans (TLP’s)
  • Consolidate all IT and AT technical data in robust Product Technical Profiles
  • Integrated Solution and product launch maximization: identify potential solutions to address grower needs and support new product launches via participation in trials and training
  • Set up trialing methodology, follow up, consolidate and analyze trials and trial results for the CU down to regional level to build deep understanding of Syngenta solutions, to sharpen their positioning and maximize the impact of product launches
  • Crop expertise: Provide agronomic support, training and coaching to the sales force, key account managers, channel partners and growers
  • Accountable for technical sign off for campaigns and crop level promotional material.
  • Competitor technology positioning analysis and story development to support SYT competitive positioning
  • Supports collaboration with local influencers (including channel), local political customers or local members of the influencing group / governmental service
  • Transfer best practices across CU’s
  • Ensure Syngenta is perceived by the technical community as ‘Thought Leader’
  • Provide technical insights on current and future grower needs, competitive products, Syngenta portfolio competitiveness
  • Share customer insights with Biologicals community
  • Identify technical portfolio gaps and together with Biologicals Portfolio Manager define the technical profile of potential options
  • Build and sustain close connection with the EAME Biologicals Technical experts and Product Biologists. Collaborate effectively with CU CP Marketing and CP Field Technical Support counterparts to ensure Biologicals COMPLIMENT existing CP solutions
  • Establish network and effective relationships with key external technical influencers
  • Track development of CPD projects and drive complementary technical support activities

Critical experience and knowledge

  • Agronomical background
  • 3 years of experience in a technical role (e. g. Product Biologist or Evaluator, technical regional field expert) in the agri-business sector,
  • Field trials experience
  • Crop management knowledge
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office user)
  • Knowledge about the needs and drivers of the customers
