Junior AI, Robotics Developer

Summary

We are hiring Junior and Junior-Middle Developers to join the V7 robotics project — developing intelligent robotic systems for public-use applications in the United States.

This is an opportunity for strong students and early-career developers to work on real-world robotics while learning directly from experienced engineers.

You will join a small engineering team of approximately five developers working under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, with the opportunity to learn, experiment, and gradually take ownership of increasingly complex technical challenges.

What You’ll Work On

The V7 project brings together multiple areas of modern software engineering, AI, and robotics. Depending on the current development priorities, you may work with:

• Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
• Computer Vision
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Generative AI
• LiDAR and robotic sensors
• Robot navigation and autonomous decision-making
• Object detection, tracking, and environmental understanding
• Localization, mapping, and path planning
• Sensor processing and sensor fusion
• AI model integration with physical robotic systems
• Simulation, testing, and debugging
• APIs, backend services, and supporting software
• Research and experimentation with emerging AI and robotics technologies

You are not expected to already know all of these technologies. The role is designed for developers with strong fundamentals who are ready to learn.

Who We’re Looking For

We are primarily looking for high-performing students and early-career developers with strong technical potential.

You should:

• Be a 3rd-year university student or above, or a recent graduate, in Computer Science, AI, Robotics, Engineering, Mathematics, or another relevant technical field
• Have a strong academic record — approximately A or equivalent
• Have strong programming fundamentals and a good understanding of code
• Have practical knowledge of Python and/or C++
• Understand the fundamentals of AI and Machine Learning
• Have a basic understanding of Computer Vision and modern AI models
• Be interested in robotics, autonomous systems, and real-world applications of AI
• Be able to learn new technologies quickly and independently
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience with ROS/ROS2, OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LiDAR, SLAM, robot navigation, LLMs, Generative AI, or autonomous systems is a plus, but not required.

Previous commercial experience is not required. University projects, research, hackathons, personal projects, GitHub projects, and experimental prototypes are all relevant.

Work Schedule

For students, we offer part-time opportunities of 30 hours per week. The schedule can be flexible around university commitments, including the possibility of working on weekends.

For graduates, full-time positions of 40+ hours per week are available.
