Middle Narrative Designer / Writer

Nekki is a game development studio with over 20 years of experience. We create games for mobile, PC, and consoles, focusing on product quality and player experience.
The Shadow Fight series and Vector have been downloaded over 1 billion times, and we continue to grow and support these franchises. At the same time, we’re building new titles: SPINE and Fight Me.

We are currently looking for a Narrative Designer / Writer to join the team of a project of the Shadow Fight series.

Shadow Fight is a mobile fighting franchise loved by fans worldwide; it includes several successful games (Shadow Fight 2, Shadow Fight 3, Shadow Fight 4: Arena and Shades).

Responsibilities:

• Writing concise and precise texts for a wide variety of purposes (both in-game and internal project documentation) in Russian and English.
• Creating characters and stories within the Shadow Fight universe.
• Developing and expanding the franchise's lore.
• Participating in brainstorms to create stories, characters, in-game events, and other content.
• Understanding in-game assets and utilizing them according to development guidelines.
• Communicating with other teams and the project producer.
• Maintaining and updating narrative documentation.

Requirements:

• Writing or scriptwriting experience. Along with your application, please provide writing samples you are proud of (any genre).
• Extensive gaming background across any genres.
• Understanding of game writing specifics, drama structures, and core game design principles.
• Politeness and professionalism.
• Responsibility and strong attention to detail.
• Broad cultural horizons (games, movies, literature, anime, theater, pro-wrestling) - be sure to mention your hobbies and interests!
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher (reading, writing, and listening skills will be required).

Would be a plus:

• Prior experience as a Narrative Designer or Writer.
• 1+ years of experience in the gaming industry.
• Experience with non-linear storytelling and proficiency with narrative design tools will be a massive plus.
• Experience working on mobile or free-to-play titles.
• A deep love for RPGs and fighting games.
