About the Company
An international deep-tech startup being established in Abu Dhabi, based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market. The company operates at the intersection of the oil & gas and petrochemical industries, catalysts, artificial intelligence, and advanced computing technologies.
We are creating next-generation technologies for major industrial companies in the GCC and building the business from the ground up.
The project is currently in its early stages: the team is being assembled, the technology product is being developed, and the first investment round is being prepared.
About the Role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to take ownership of business development in the GCC countries.
This is an early-stage role in a project with no existing commercial structure. You will need to independently identify potential clients and partners, engage with senior executives of major companies, nurture relationships, launch initial pilot projects, and drive them to commercial contracts.
What matters here is not only the ability to sell but also understanding how to identify new business opportunities, independently build relationships, and move the project forward without established processes or a large team.
What We Offer
- A fixed salary of 10,000–15,000 AED (negotiable) + additional performance-based incentives.
- Compensation terms are discussed individually based on experience and profile fit.
- A key role in an early-stage international deep-tech project.
- The opportunity to build the company's commercial direction practically from scratch.
- The ability to influence strategy and business development.
- Work with major industrial companies in the GCC.
- An international environment and a high degree of autonomy.
- Primary location: Abu Dhabi, UAE.
- Regular business travel across the GCC.
Who We Are Looking For
We need an independent and proactive professional who is motivated to build something new rather than simply operate within an existing system.
We consider two main types of experience:
- Industry Experience
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemicals, chemical industry, industrial equipment, or other complex B2B industries.
- It is important to understand the specifics of large industrial companies, their decision-making processes, and the nature of long-cycle B2B sales.
- Startup Experience
- Experience working in a startup where you participated in launching a new product or business line, independently developed the business, acquired clients, or entered a new market.
What Matters
- Experience in Business Development, Sales, Commercial, Strategy, or a related field.
- Practical experience in business development, sales, or launching a new direction.
- Experience working with large B2B clients and complex deals.
- Experience in independent negotiations with company executives.
- The ability to independently identify opportunities and see them through to results.
- Fluent, professional English.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment and establish processes autonomously.
- Willingness to relocate to Abu Dhabi and make it your primary work location, rather than only visiting for occasional meetings or trips.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the GCC.
Strong Advantages
- Experience working in the GCC market.
- Existing professional contacts among major industrial and oil & gas companies in the region.
- Experience working with companies such as ADNOC, Borouge, QAFCO, and other major industrial players.
- Experience interacting with government entities and industrial institutions.
- Experience in the chemical industry or catalysts.
- Experience with AI, Deep Tech, or other complex technology products.
- Experience in building business models, financial planning, or preparing investment materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company's market entry strategy for the GCC.
- Identify potential clients, partners, and new business opportunities.
- Build relationships and negotiate with senior executives of major industrial and oil & gas companies.
- Build and manage the sales pipeline.
- Launch pilot projects and drive them to first commercial contracts.
- Develop key clients and strategic partnerships.
- Participate in negotiations with government bodies and industrial institutions in the region.
- Contribute to the development of business plans, financial models, and commercial strategy.
- Participate in preparing materials for investors and strategic partners.
- Represent the company in meetings with clients and partners.
- Engage regularly with the market and undertake business trips across the GCC.
