About the Humanities Department

The Humanities Department develops students' understanding of history, culture, geography, politics, and society while encouraging critical thinking, inquiry, and global awareness. Students are challenged to analyze evidence, consider multiple perspectives, and make meaningful connections between historical events and the modern world. Position Overview

The High School History Teacher will teach Uzbekistan History and World History while supporting students in courses delivered through our international academic partnership. As part of our blended learning model, students participate in live online History lessons taught by American teachers twice per week. During these sessions, the History Teacher serves as the classroom facilitator, ensuring students remain engaged, providing academic support, assisting with classroom management, and reinforcing learning before and after the online lessons.

The successful candidate will create an engaging classroom environment that promotes historical inquiry, analytical thinking, research skills, and academic writing.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Uzbekistan History and World History to high school students.
• Support students during live online History lessons delivered by American teachers twice each week.
• Act as the classroom facilitator during online lessons by monitoring student engagement, supporting classroom management, and assisting students when needed.
• Reinforce concepts taught during online sessions through follow-up instruction, discussion, and revision activities.
• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based History lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
• Develop students' historical thinking, research, and analytical writing skills.
• Teach students how to evaluate primary and secondary historical sources.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and academic progress.
• Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in History, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid teaching qualification or teaching license.
• Experience teaching high school History in an English-medium or international school.
• Experience teaching Uzbekistan History and World History is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting blended or online learning environments is an advantage.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
