Nekki is a game development studio with over 20 years of experience. We create games for mobile, PC, and consoles, focusing on product quality and player experience.
The Shadow Fight series and Vector have been downloaded over 1 billion times, and we continue to grow and support these franchises. At the same time, we’re building new titles: SPINE and Fight Me.
SPINE is made with Unreal Engine 5 and centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It's a third-person beat'em'up with a full set of PC gaming features, including a deep storyline, a unique setting, cutscenes, intriguing enemies, memorable bosses, character progression, and, most importantly, breathtaking battles with a wide array of firearms.
We are currently looking for a Technical Game designer to join the technical game design team of our flagship project – Spine.
This project represents a new ambitious challenge for the company as it marks our first game for both PC and consoles.
As a Technical Game Designer, you'll sit at the intersection of gameplay programming and game design.
Responsibilities:
Implement combat system mechanics using C++ and Blueprints(GameplayAbilitySystem), from prototype to final implementation, in collaboration with programmers.
Work on the gameplay result of the mechanics, in collaboration with game designers and animators.
Independently contribute to the gameplay, helping to polish mechanics to achieve the best feel and to meet gameplay goals.
Help integrate content for the combat system (animations, SFX, VFX).
Requirements:
2+ years of experience implementing gameplay logic in Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5).
A game design mindset and a basic understanding of the game design principles behind combat systems. We expect at least a decent level of hands-on familiarity with action games.
Ability to independently investigate and diagnose gameplay and technical issues.
Soft skills for working in a cross-disciplinary feature team — collaborating closely with programmers, game designers, and animators.
Conversational or higher level of English — the team mostly speaks Russian, but some team members are English-speaking, so you'll need it to communicate with them.
Would be a plus:
Portfolio showcasing personal game projects or demos of any complexity.
We offer:
A great team with a friendly, informal work environment where we share interests, play video games together, and organize internal events (gamejams, tournaments, and conferences).
Support of professional development, participation in specialized conferences and educational events.
Work remotely from anywhere. Working hours: 10 AM – 7 PM (GMT+3, including a 1-hour break), with the option to adjust.
Support for personal growth: English courses, psychologist sessions, and various educational programs.
Internal coins you can collect and exchange for unique merch in our store.
If you don’t hear from us within 7-10 days, it means we won’t be moving forward with your application this time. We truly appreciate your interest in our company and the time you took to apply. Thank you!
By applying for a vacancy at Nekki, you consent to the processing of your personal data collected during the application process.
