The Role: System-Level Thinking

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a strong working knowledge of the institutional FX and CFD trading domain. Your primary value here is your technical judgment—your ability to understand how complex systems interact, choose the right tools for the job, and translate financial requirements into robust, high-performance solutions.

We operate a modern, AI-accelerated engineering environment. We expect you to leverage AI development tools (specifically Claude Code and Codex) to accelerate implementation. Because AI handles the heavy lifting of boilerplate and standard syntax, your focus shifts to system behavior, cross-component interactions, trade lifecycle validation, and ensuring the absolute stability of the platform.

You will build and own systems that power our fintech operations—focusing primarily on client-facing platforms and operational tooling. We currently have a significant C# codebase that requires ongoing scaling, while actively building new high-throughput services in Go.

This is a full-time position based in Cyprus with a relocation package available.

What You'll Do

• System Development: Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines, ensuring seamless interaction and rock-solid stability across our broader trading ecosystem.
• Domain-Driven Engineering: Apply your knowledge of broker workflows, trade execution, and financial protocols to build value-added services that are accurate, secure, and highly performant.
• Technical Judgment: Make informed decisions about which tools, patterns, and databases best solve the problem at hand, understanding the downstream impact of those choices on latency and throughput.
• C# & Go Development: Actively develop new scalable backend services in Go while maintaining and optimizing our core C# (.NET) systems.
• Modern Workflow: Use our established AI toolset (Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate your development cycles, utilizing the saved time for rigorous code review, performance profiling, and ensuring system stability.

What We're Looking For

• Domain Knowledge: Commercial experience in fintech, institutional FX, CFD trading infrastructure, or capital markets. You don't need to be an ex-dealer, but you should understand the mechanics of how trades are executed—including bid/ask pricing models, order routing, slippage, margin calculations, and basic broker workflows (like A-Book/B-Book execution).
• Experience: 5+ years of backend software development experience, with a strong focus on building highly concurrent, stable, and low-latency systems.
• Technical Depth & Adaptability: Deep expertise in C# (.NET Core) OR Go. We value pragmatic, open-minded engineers who focus on problem-solving rather than language loyalty. You don't need to be a master of every language in our stack, but you should be comfortable working in a mixed-language environment and willing to adapt to whatever technology the problem requires.
• Data & Systems: Deep experience with SQL databases (MySQL/MariaDB, Clickhouse) including heavy query optimization and an understanding of high-volume data flow.
• Modern Workflows: Regular, fluent use of modern AI coding agents and LLMs as velocity multipliers in your daily workflow.
• Product Mindset: You are focused on solving real business problems and understanding the "why" behind the code, rather than just closing Jira tickets.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating with trading platforms like MT4/MT5.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and message queues (Kafka, Redpanda).
