Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
- Process payroll, invoices, and expense reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with Kazakhstani tax legislation, statutory reporting requirements, and internal financial policies.
- Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and banking institutions as required.
- Support the Finance Department with ad hoc financial analysis and administrative tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of professional accounting experience; experience in a university or non-profit setting is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and Kazakhstani accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., 1C) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good command of English and Kazakh and/or Russian.
- Professional certification (CAP, CIPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is a plus.
