1. Job Title
Equipment Maintenance Engineer
2. Key Responsibilities
1. Perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on automated sorting equipment, conveyor systems, and supporting facilities at the sorting center.
2. Diagnose and resolve faults involving sorting equipment, conveyors, curve conveyors, motorized rollers, belt conveyors, roller conveyors, and related machinery.
3. Inspect the operating condition of mechanical structures, transmission components, belts, chains, bearings, rollers, motors, and reduction gear units.
4. Inspect and repair high-voltage and low-voltage electrical equipment, including distribution cabinets, motors, variable-frequency drives, sensors, relays, contactors, switching power supplies, and control circuits.
5. Use electrical drawings and equipment operating principles to troubleshoot short circuits, open circuits, poor connections, sensor abnormalities, and motor faults.
6. Replace, install, commission, and repair wear parts, and maintain accurate spare-parts usage records.
7. Use common maintenance tools such as angle grinders, electric drills, multimeters, clamp meters, and soldering irons.
8. Carry out basic metal cutting, bracket fabrication, equipment reinforcement, and welding work.
9. Work with the operations team to respond to unexpected equipment failures, restore operation promptly, and minimize production downtime.
10. Maintain equipment inspection, repair, and servicing records; analyze recurring faults and recommend improvements.
11. Strictly comply with safety procedures for electrical work, welding, work at height, and equipment maintenance.
12. Complete other equipment maintenance and on-site improvement tasks assigned by the supervisor.
3. Qualifications
1. Educational background in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical automation, electronic engineering, automation and control, or a related field.
2. Foundational knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance, with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve common equipment faults.
3. Familiarity with the basic mechanical structures and operating principles of conveyor systems, curve conveyors, belt conveyors, and motorized rollers.
5. Ability to read basic mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
6. Proficiency with multimeters, clamp meters, angle grinders, electric drills, welding machines, and other common tools.
7. Ability to perform basic angle-grinder cutting, welding, and mechanical structure repairs.
8. Strong safety awareness and the ability to strictly follow power-isolation, lockout/tagout, voltage-verification, and personal-protection requirements.
9. Strong sense of responsibility and practical hands-on ability; able to work effectively in a sorting-center environment.
10. Strong willingness to learn about automated equipment, control systems, and new sorting technologies.
11. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with production teams in resolving on-site issues.
12. Willingness to work rotating shifts, night shifts, or respond to emergency failures when required.
4. Preferred Qualifications
1. Maintenance experience in express delivery, logistics, warehousing, or factory automation.
2. Maintenance experience with cross-belt sorters, narrow-belt sorters, disc sorters, manual induction equipment, or other automated sorting systems.
3. Familiarity with PLCs, variable-frequency drives, sensors, barcode-scanning equipment, motors, and electrical control systems.
4. Experience installing, commissioning, or modifying conveyor systems.
5. A valid electrician certificate, welding certificate, or other relevant special-operations qualification.
6. Ability to communicate for work purposes in English or Chinese.
