Psychologist

The Psychologist at Coventry University Kazakhstan is responsible for providing comprehensive well-being and mental health services to students and the university community, including individual and group counselling, crisis intervention, psychological assessments, and mental health workshops. The Psychologist plays a critical role in promoting well-being and mental health awareness through outreach and educational programs, ensuring that services are delivered ethically and in compliance with legal standards, while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity in all interactions. They work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to address students' social, emotional and psychological needs, contributing to their overall well-being and academic success, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment conducive to learning and growth aligned with the institution’s mission, values, and strategic goals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counselling to students, faculty, and staff to address well-being and mental health issues, emotional challenges, and personal concerns.

• Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the needs of each person.
• Offer crisis intervention services, including support during traumatic events.
• Develop and deliver workshops, seminars, and educational programs on topics such as stress management, mental health awareness, and coping strategies.

• Collaborate with other university departments to promote well-being, mental health and wellness initiatives across the campus.

• Provide consultation services to faculty, staff, and administrators regarding student well-being and mental health concerns.

• Collaborate with academic departments to support students with any learning disabilities and other challenges.

• Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to diagnose any mental health disorders.

• Interpret and communicate assessment results to individuals and, when appropriate, refer them to external resources.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling interventions through data collection and analysis.

• Collect and analyse data to improve services and contribute to the academic community’s understanding of mental health.

• Provide training and professional development opportunities for university staff on mental health topics.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, assessments, and other interactions.

• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate outcomes and recommendations for the leadership team.

• Ensure all services are provided in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.

• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
