MYP / DP Librarian

Kazakhstan International School Astana is seeking a proactive and inspiring professional for the position of MYP/DP Librarian. This is a pivotal role within our Middle and Diploma Programmes, aimed at developing students' independent research skills, critical thinking, and digital literacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Learning & Curriculum Support: Collaborate with subject teachers to design interdisciplinary units aligned with IB standards.

• Approaches to Learning (ATL) Skills Development: Teach students information and media literacy; provide mentorship and guidance for the MYP Personal Project and the DP Extended Essay (EE).

• Academic Integrity & AI: Oversee the implementation of the Academic Honesty Policy; educate students on citation styles, referencing, and the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in education.

• Resource Management: Curate and develop the library’s collection of physical and digital resources; manage subscriptions to academic databases and journals.

Requirements

Mandatory:

• Professional English Fluency: Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory, as it is the primary language for communication and instruction.

• Education: A university degree in Education, Philology, Library Science, Information Science, or a related field.

• IB Framework: A solid understanding of IB standards and practices (MYP/DP).

• Digital Literacy: High level of digital proficiency, including experience with academic databases and an active interest in educational AI tools.

Preferred (As a Significant Advantage):

• Prior experience working in an authorized IB World School.

• Experience mentoring or coordinating the DP Extended Essay (EE) or MYP Personal Project.
