Role
This is a full-time on-site role for a Python Developer (Data Collection & Web Intelligence) based in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining backend components, creating effective data collection tools, and implementing solutions for web intelligence. The role also entails optimizing performance, ensuring scalability, debugging, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate data-driven services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain systems for automated data extraction from news websites and social media platforms
• Design scalable solutions for continuous data ingestion and processing
• Work with APIs as well as non-API data sources
• Handle dynamic content, anti-bot mechanisms, and data consistency challenges
• Ensure data quality, completeness, and timeliness
• Collaborate with the product and analytics team to improve data coverage

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Proven experience in web data extraction / data acquisition from media or social platforms
• Experience with libraries and tools such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, Playwright or similar
• Understanding of how modern websites work (HTML, DOM, JS rendering, network requests)
• Experience working with APIs (REST, GraphQL)
• Familiarity with handling rate limits, proxies, and anti-scraping protections
• Ability to work independently and solve complex tasks
