What makes the role special
Group-IB Fraud Protection is an advanced solution designed to counteract the most sophisticated fraud schemes against an organization, regardless of the industry. Group-IB Fraud Protection helps you detect fraud schemes such as social engineering attacks (phishing sites, email scams, etc.), user account fraud, payment fraud, malicious bot activity, web injections, mobile trojans, malware-related and credit frauds, and more.
Tasks to solve
- Design, write, and maintain test cases, checklists, and test configurations based on requirements and technical documentation.
- Perform manual functional, regression, and integration testing of backend services.
- Identify, reproduce, localize, and verify defects; work closely with developers to drive them to resolution.
- Generate detailed test reports: test execution results, defect summaries, coverage metrics, and key observations.
- Analyze logs and event data using ELK stack to support root-cause investigations.
- Develop and maintain test documentation — test plans, test suites, traceability matrices.
- Understand the system end-to-end and proactively suggest improvements that make it more stable, predictable, and observable.
This role is perfect for you if
- You have solid hands-on experience in manual QA, with a strong focus on backend and API testing (REST, message queues, server integrations, mock testing).
- You're comfortable working with various databases — relational, NoSQL, columnar — writing queries to validate data integrity.
- You have experience testing high-load, distributed systems and know what to look for when things go wrong at scale.
- You have strong analytical skills and genuinely enjoy digging into complex systems to figure out what's happening.
- You write clear, structured bug reports and test documentation that others can actually use.
- Experience building or contributing to automation frameworks (Python/Pytest, Go, or JavaScript) is a significant plus — we're heading in that direction and would love your help.
What else we appreciate in our team
- Collaborative spirit — you make the team around you better.
- Technical curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Enthusiasm for learning new tools and owning quality end-to-end.
- Python skills are a nice bonus; Go experience is also welcomed.
