Chief Accountant (International Company)

Main Purpose of the Job:

• Provide high-quality accounting, financial reporting, and local tax compliance support to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
• Monitor, identify, and report compliance risks, while driving continuous improvement in accounting controls and financial processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and related expenses accounting activities.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting records, monthly closing, and statutory financial reporting.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, follow up on outstanding issues, and maintain strong financial controls and desk procedures.
• Prepare and submit high-quality financial and tax reports to local authorities and the Group in a timely manner.
• Coordinate statutory and internal audits, support cross-functional business collaboration, and provide financial analysis as required by management.
• Company and board registration related affairs
• Acceptance, monitoring, and approval of insurance contracts which are mandatory under Kazakh law and globally in accordance with the company's policy. Interaction with the broker.
• Any other tasks assigned by the line manager

Education

• Bachelor or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as ACCA or equivalent are preferred.

Experience

• At least 5 years of finance and accounting experience in a multinational company, or 3 years of relevant experience in a leading audit firm.

Skills & Competencies

• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and local statutory and tax compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems; familiarity with 1C is an advantage.
• Good command of English (spoken and written); strong Microsoft Office skills
• Strong sense of ownership, integrity, and accountability.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
