About the Role

You will own the definition, design, and implementation of the target data platform across the ecosystem — from assessing the current landscape to leading its phased delivery.

Location: Azerbaijan (relocation)

What You Will Do

Architecture & Strategy

• Own the end-to-end data platform architecture — current-state assessment, target-state definition, selection of the right architectural model (layered architecture, federated model, or data mesh), and execution of the phased roadmap
• Define and enforce data engineering and architecture standards to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability across all business domains
• Represent the data architecture domain within the Enterprise Architecture Committee
• Lead all major platform technology decisions — vendor evaluation, selection, and long-term partnership strategy

Platform & Integration

• Ensure secure and scalable cross-domain data integration to enable ecosystem-level use cases including Customer 360 and Merchant 360
• Build a strong working partnership with the Data & AI Ops team across deployment, monitoring, incident management, and lifecycle governance of data pipelines

People & Teams

• Lead multiple established data engineering teams operating across different platforms, standards, and delivery models
• Drive their alignment into a single coherent engineering function at ecosystem scale
• Define team structure, capability model, and performance expectations

What We Are Looking For

• 10+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, or large-scale system architecture
• 7+ years leading and developing engineering teams
• Proven track record designing data platforms — DWH, Data Lake, Lakehouse — on-premise or cloud
• Hands-on experience across data warehouse, lake, lakehouse, APIs, and data infrastructure
• Strong ability to manage stakeholders across both executive and technical audiences
