The Role
The Health, Safety & Ecology Manager will be responsible for driving and embedding a strong safety culture across the organization, covering several production sites, office employees, and regional teams. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing & Engineering Director, the role combines strategic leadership, operational execution, and people management to ensure the highest standards in occupational health, industrial safety, fire safety, and environmental protection.
- Develop and promote a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) culture across all company functions and locations.
- Define and implement policies, procedures, and standards related to occupational health, industrial safety, fire safety, and environmental protection.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term HSE strategies across both manufacturing sites, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead initiatives aimed at preventing accidents, injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental incidents.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazardous situations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor HSE performance indicators and ensure effective follow-up on identified risks and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure consistent implementation of HSE standards and best practices across both production facilities.
- Manage and develop a team of several employees, ensuring business continuity and continuous capability development.
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors involved in HSE-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation, corporate standards, and international best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety performance, operational excellence, and environmental sustainability across the organization.
The Candidate
- Higher education, preferably in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience HSE management within a manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge of occupational health, industrial safety, fire safety, and environmental regulations.
- Experience implementing and maintaining international management systems, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Previous people management experience with the ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization and promote a culture of accountability and safety.
- Structured, proactive, and hands-on approach, capable of balancing strategic initiatives with operational execution.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
