Oracle Database Engineer (Way4 Performance Tuning & Optimization)

About the Role

This role combines infrastructure and application logic - your task is to ensure its fault tolerance, performance, and stability.

You will be responsible for deploying, optimizing, and ensuring the high performance of the payment platform on the client side.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize Oracle databases that run critical business logic (PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, triggers).

• Performance tuning and analyze execution plans to resolve slow-running business operations.

• Ensure high availability of Oracle databases using RAC, Data Guard, and clustering solutions.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams on diagnostics, upgrades, and fault-tolerant configurations.

• Participate in database migrations, load testing, and impact analysis of new features.

• Contribute to solution design, implementation plans, and support documentation.

• Assist in troubleshooting complex incidents.

• Participate in onboarding of new environments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in IT, with 5+ years in Oracle database administration and/or development.

• Strong expertise in performance tuning, SQL plan optimization.

• Deep understanding of Oracle PL/SQL as a business logic layer.

• Experience with large-scale OLTP systems and enterprise-grade availability architectures.

• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, backup/recovery.

• Solid Linux/Unix skills and familiarity with automation tools.

• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting connectivity in distributed systems.

• Strong communication skills and professional-level English (spoken and written).

• Higher education in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related field.
