Position: SAT Subject Teacher (Native English Speaker is preferable)
Location:Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Setting: Private, closed-community after-school enrichment project
Group: 8 – 14 years (Classes 1 – 6, Cambridge Primary & Lower Secondary)
Student Profile: Local Uzbek children; English proficiency ranges from zero to IELTS 6.5
Contract: Full-time, minimum 1-year fixed-term
Working Hours: 09:00 – 18:00
Probation: 3 months, with formal review

About the Project

This is a private, invitation-only educational enrichment project based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Operating as a closed community, the project serves a carefully selected cohort of local Uzbek children 8 to 14 whose families are committed to long-term, high-quality academic development.

Students in the project range widely in their current English ability — from those with no prior exposure to the language through to those who hold an IELTS certificate at band 6.5. Despite this spread in proficiency, all students share the same long-term goal: to develop the academic knowledge, English fluency, and independent thinking skills needed to compete for places at the world’s leading universities.

The project’s curriculum is built on the Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary frameworks, with a deliberate pathway leading to Cambridge International AS and A Levels by the time students. Academic subjects — including Science, Global Perspectives, Mathematics, Music, and Humanities — are taught entirely in English. English is not the subject; it is the medium of instruction. Through sustained, meaningful engagement with challenging content delivered by native speakers, students absorb academic English naturally, building fluency and register alongside subject knowledge without the limitations of conventional language instruction.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality SAT preparation lessons in Reading, Writing & Language, and Mathematics for students
  • Use official SAT practice tests, College Board materials, and structured exam preparation resources as the core teaching foundation, supplemented by targeted skill-building materials to strengthen student performance
  • Teach entirely through the medium of English, creating an immersive academic environment where students develop the speed, accuracy, and critical thinking required for high SAT scores
  • Differentiate instruction effectively to support students ranging from foundational level to advanced university-bound candidates (e.g., 900–1600 score range), ensuring every learner is both challenged and supported
  • Develop students’ abilities in evidence-based reading, analytical writing, grammar accuracy, and advanced mathematical problem-solving aligned with SAT requirements
  • Build strong test-taking strategies, including time management, question analysis, elimination techniques, and accuracy under exam pressure
  • Foster independent thinking, disciplined study habits, and exam confidence consistent with the expectations of top international university admissions standards
  • Prepare detailed, structured SAT lesson plans aligned with College Board SAT skill domains, including Reading, Writing & Language, and Mathematics, with clear progression and differentiation for varying student performance levels
  • Design and administer regular diagnostic tests, timed mock SAT exams, and formative assessments that accurately reflect official SAT standards and provide clear evidence of student progress
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date records of student scores, skill gaps, and improvement areas, and provide timely, constructive written and verbal feedback to support measurable score growth
  • Track individual student performance using data-driven methods, identifying strengths and weaknesses to inform targeted instruction and personalized learning plans
  • Submit weekly written reports on student progress, mock exam results, curriculum coverage, and any academic or behavioural issues requiring management attention
Requirements
  • Native English speaker — required without exception, as this role is based on an immersive SAT instruction model
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant academic subject (e.g. Mathematics, Humanities, Social Sciences, or Education)
  • Master’s degree in Math, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field (strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 3–4 years of teaching experience, ideally in SAT preparation, academic English, or international standardized testing programs
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively across a wide range of student ability levels, including beginners and high-achieving students targeting top university admissions
  • Strong familiarity with SAT structure, question types, scoring system, and evidence-based test preparation strategies
  • Strong skills in lesson scaffolding and differentiation; able to simplify complex academic and test content without reducing rigor or expectations
  • Excellent written and spoken English with consistent use of a professional academic register in all communication
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high standards in intensive, results-driven SAT preparation classes
  • High standards of personal conduct: punctuality, reliability, discretion, and professional integrity
Conditions
  • Position type: Office-based; all teaching conducted on-site at the project premises in Tashkent
  • Contract duration: Minimum one academic year (12 months), with possibility of renewal by mutual agreement
  • Probation period: Three months, with formal review and written feedback
  • Working hours: 09:00 – 18:00
  • Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience; details confirmed at interview
