Job Description
The International School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Global Citizenship Teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Global Citizenship within the framework of the Pearson Edexcel British Curriculum, fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to become responsible, informed, and active global citizens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with Pearson Edexcel curriculum standards and international education objectives.
- Promote students’ understanding of:
- global issues,
- cultural diversity,
- sustainability,
- human rights,
- ethics,
- social responsibility,
- global interdependence.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Encourage critical thinking, debate, collaboration, and reflective learning through interactive discussions, projects, and inquiry-based activities.
- Implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Foster leadership, empathy, communication, and problem-solving skills among students.
- Integrate real-world global challenges and current international issues into classroom learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units, community initiatives, and cross-curricular projects.
- Organize and support student participation in social impact projects, awareness campaigns, Model United Nations (MUN), debates, and community service activities.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student development and well-being.
- Contribute to the school’s international-mindedness and values-based education initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in:
- Global Studies,
- International Relations,
- Social Sciences,
- Education,
- Humanities,
- or a related field.
- Teaching certification or qualification recognized for teaching within a British curriculum setting.
- Previous experience teaching Global Citizenship, Humanities, Social Studies, or related subjects at the secondary level, preferably in an international school environment.
- Strong knowledge of Pearson Edexcel curriculum standards and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment.
- Commitment to professional growth, innovation, and ongoing learning.
