Senior Industry Analyst

The AIFC Authority is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Manager to join its Industry Analysis Department. In this role, the Senior Manager will conduct in-depth research and analysis of the real economy and macroeconomic trends, produce insightful reports, and develop strategic recommendations that support AIFC’s mission to foster sustainable economic development in Kazakhstan and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on macroeconomic trends and real economy indicators.

• Produce high-quality deliverables, including economic models, chartbooks, case studies, and analytical reports.

• Monitor and assess national and regional industrial strategies, policies, development plans, and initiatives.

• Prepare project proposals aimed at increasing economic complexity and diversification.

• Collaborate with internal AIFC bodies and units under the direction of the Department Director.

• Liaise with government authorities and contribute to the formulation of national and regional development programs.

• Engage with external stakeholders, including international financial institutions, think tanks, consulting firms, and private sector entities.

• Share best practices and mentor junior team members, supporting professional development within the Department.

• Ensure strict compliance with AIFC’s internal policies, procurement procedures, and regulatory frameworks.

• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and data security in all aspects of work.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Management, Public Policy, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

• 3/5 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in:

  • Government bodies

  • Quasi-public organizations

  • Consulting firms

  • International or financial institutions

Skills and competencies

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.

• Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with advanced statistical software (e.g., STATA) and data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal) is an asset.

• Proficiency in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
