Junior Data Engineer / Инженер данных

We’re looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Yerevan. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to work with modern data tools, learn fast, and gain hands-on experience with real production systems.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, contributing to data pipelines, analytics infrastructure, and client-facing data solutions with strong mentorship and support along the way.

Job responsibilities:

• Build and maintain data pipelines using SQL and Python;
• Work with data warehouses and lakehouse architectures;
• Integrate data from various sources and ensure data quality and reliability;
• Follow and support data governance practices;
• Collaborate with analytics teams to deliver data for reporting and insights;
• Assist in building APIs for data access and integration;
• Support data preparation for analytics and data science use cases;
• Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance;
• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for pipelines and processes.

Required qualification

• Strong SQL expertise: write complex, performant queries (CTEs, window functions, joins), experience optimizing queries;
• Data Modeling expertise: strong understanding of dimensional modeling (facts, dimensions, star schemas) and ability to translate business requirements into data models;
• Experience working closely with analysts and business stakeholders;
• Experience with data testing, monitoring, and debugging;
• Comfortable working in Git-based workflows;
• Familiarity with ELT pipelines and modern data stack concepts;
• Exposure to a BI tool (PBI, Qlik Sense, Tableau or other);
• Can read, write, and speak English (B2/C1);
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions and improve.

Nice to Have

• Building and maintaining dbt models;
• Understanding of semantic layers for analytics and BI;
• Familiarity with K8s environments.
