We're a product team building a non-custodial crypto wallet (iOS/Android), a crypto card, and a growing line of investing products. We ship fast: multiple releases per week across mobile and backend, and quality is non-negotiable: our users trust us with their assets.
We're looking for a Tech Lead QA to set the technical bar for the QA function, mentor a Middle QA engineer, and partner with developers to make automated test coverage genuinely effective. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, no people management, no 1:1s or performance reviews, but real influence on how quality is built and measured across the product.
Department: Product
Remote status: Fully Remote. Candidates based outside of the Russian Federation are preferred. Applicants residing in - must be considering relocation
Key responsibilities
Own the quality of mobile app (iOS/Android), backend services, and internal back-office tools releases.
Test new features with complex crypto and fintech logic, including high-stakes flows (transactions, swaps, asset custody, KYC).
Drive QA-developer collaboration on automated testing: write detailed test cases, review and accept actual coverage, and incorporate the resulting test suite into daily QA work.
Establish and own QA standards and metrics: test case templates, checklists, bug reporting standards, defect rate, escape rate, CFR/LT, and build reporting for stakeholders.
Lead production stability efforts: monitor logs and metrics (Sentry, Firebase, Grafana), drive incident response, run post-mortems, and surface root causes.
Mentor the Middle QA engineer and contribute to raising QA maturity across the team.
Shape QA strategy and influence product quality with the Team Lead, developers, product managers, and designers.
Must-have
Hard skills & experience
7+ years of QA experience, including at least 3 years of testing mobile products.
Background in fintech or crypto: you understand the stakes, the regulatory context, and the user expectations of money-movement products.
User-level experience with crypto wallets and a working understanding of blockchain mechanics: transactions and fees, seed phrases, derivation paths, common token standards (ERC-20, BEP-20, etc.), swaps, and bridges. Required even for candidates coming from a pure fintech background.
Excellent manual testing skills across mobile and API (Postman, Charles, or similar).
Solid understanding of performance and load testing principles, with the ability to design load scenarios; hands-on experience is a plus.
Hands-on experience reviewing automated tests and validating coverage in a collaborative model: writing detailed test cases, ensuring the developer's implementation actually covers the specified scenarios, and using the resulting test suite in daily QA work.
Experience working with QA metrics (defect rate, escape rate, test coverage, CFR/LT) and building QA reporting for stakeholders.
Hands-on experience with logs and monitoring tools (Sentry, Firebase, Grafana).
Soft skills
Proven mentoring experience: mentored 1-2 QA engineers over 6 months, plus hands-on involvement in establishing or improving QA processes within the team.
Proactive and responsible - able to influence, communicate, and argue constructively across product, engineering, and design.
English language proficiency: Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Nice-to-have
Experience with security testing, especially for crypto products (key management, signing, sensitive flows).
Hands-on experience with load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Locust, or similar).
Experience with Jest, Detox, or other JS-based testing frameworks.
Understanding of QA management methodologies and metric design beyond CFR/LT/defect rate.
Experience with KYC/AML systems.
