Nation.better is building the AI-native operating system for UK legal services. Our platform is designed to replace fragmented, manual workflows with an intelligent, integrated system purpose-built for immigration law firms and compliance teams.
We are at an inflection point: launching our Proof of Concept programme with our first cohort of legal service provider clients in June 2026. This role is central to making that happen, and to everything that comes after.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Solution Engineer to own the commercial and technical bridge between our product and our clients. This is a founder-adjacent, high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of complex problem-solving, client partnership, and cutting-edge AI product deployment.
You will be the person who sits across the table from senior partners at law firms, earns their trust, maps their workflows, and translates that into a compelling business case and a technically sound implementation plan. You are as comfortable in a boardroom as you are in a product spec.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Case Development
- Lead structured discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand their caseload, team structure, pain points, and commercial goals
- Build quantified business cases that translate operational inefficiencies into ROI
- Present findings and recommendations to decision-makers including senior partners, operations leads, and finance stakeholders
Proof of Concept Execution
- Own the end-to-end POC process
- Coordinate all stakeholders, manage the delivery timeline, and ensure clients have everything they need to evaluate the product fairly
- Be accountable for post-POC planning
Technical Discovery & Solution Design
- Conduct deep-dive technical due diligence: understand existing systems, data flows, integration points, and compliance constraints
- Design the integration and configuration approach for each client, working closely with the product and engineering team
- Lead the Discovery and Design phase for clients moving to full deployment, producing clear solution architecture and implementation plans
Commercial & Sales Support
- Support commercial negotiations by providing technical scoping, risk assessment, and implementation costing
- Contribute to refining our POC and onboarding playbooks based on real-world learnings
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the engagement lifecycle
KEY REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Background in IT consulting, management consulting, or enterprise solution engineering - this is non-negotiable
- Demonstrated experience building business cases and presenting to C-suite or partner-level stakeholders
- Strong analytical and structured thinking; able to turn ambiguous client conversations into clear frameworks
- Excellent communication - written, verbal, and in the room; you know how to listen and how to lead
- Comfortable working in an early-stage, fast-moving environment with limited hand-holding
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with legal services, professional services, or regulated industries
- Exposure to AI/ML product deployments or enterprise SaaS implementations
- Familiarity with workflow automation, CRM, or case management systems
