About the Project

This is a private, invitation-only educational enrichment project based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Operating as a closed community, the project serves a carefully selected cohort of local Uzbek children aged 8 to 14 whose families are committed to long-term, high-quality academic development.

Students in the project range widely in their current English ability — from those with no prior exposure to the language through to those who hold an IELTS certificate at band 6.5. Despite this spread in proficiency, all students share the same long-term goal: to develop the academic knowledge, English fluency, and independent thinking skills needed to compete for places at the world’s leading universities.

The project’s curriculum is built on the Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary frameworks, with a deliberate pathway leading to Cambridge International AS and A Levels by the time students reach the age of 18. Academic subjects — including Science, Global Perspectives, Mathematics, Music, and Humanities — are taught entirely in English. English is not the subject; it is the medium of instruction. Through sustained, meaningful engagement with challenging content delivered by native speakers, students absorb academic English naturally, building fluency and register alongside subject knowledge without the limitations of conventional language instruction.

Responsibilities
  • Native English speaker — required without exception, as this is fundamental to the project’s immersive instructional model
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant academic subject (e.g. Sciences, Humanities, Mathematics, Music, Social Sciences, or Education)
  • Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Teaching, or a closely related field (strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ teaching experience, ideally with primary or lower secondary age groups
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively across a wide range of student ability levels, including complete beginners and more advanced learners in the same cohort
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge Primary and/or Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum frameworks
  • Strong skills in lesson scaffolding and differentiation; able to make subject content accessible without sacrificing academic rigour
  • Excellent written and spoken English; professional academic register in all communications
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high standards in a small-group, intensive setting
  • High standards of personal conduct: punctuality, reliability, discretion, and professional integrity

Requirements:

  • IELTS score 8.0 or higher (Speaking at least 7.5)

  • Minimum 2 years of English teaching experience

  • Professional proficiency in Russian and Uzbek (mandatory)

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Responsibility, punctuality, and professional appearance

  • Motivation to help students achieve high IELTS results

  • Master’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience teaching Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE, or A Level qualifications
  • Experience working in an EFL or multilingual environment where the language of instruction differs from students’ mother tongue
  • An understanding of or genuine interest in Uzbek culture, society, and the local educational context
  • Experience preparing students for competitive international university applications, including Oxbridge, Ivy League, or equivalent
  • Expertise in project-based, inquiry-led, or Socratic teaching methods
  • Ability to mentor students in academic writing, structured argumentation, and extended research work

A note on language qualifications: As this role is restricted to native English speakers, IELTS or equivalent language certification is not required. Candidates who hold additional qualifications in language-aware pedagogy (e.g. CELTA, DELTA, PGCE with EAL experience) are welcome to include these in their application.

Conditions:

  • Position type: Office-based; all teaching conducted on-site at the project premises in Tashkent
  • Contract duration: Minimum one academic year (12 months), with possibility of renewal by mutual agreement
  • Probation period: Three months, with formal review and written feedback

  • Working hours: 09:00 – 17:00 or 13:00 – 21:00 (shift pattern confirmed at appointment)

  • Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience; details confirmed at interview

Relocation Support & Additional Benefits

The project is committed to supporting internationally recruited colleagues throughout the relocation process. The following benefits are provided:

  • Visa and work permit: Full support and sponsorship for the Uzbekistan work visa and residence registration process
  • Accommodation: Accommodation support provided; details confirmed at offer stage
  • Annual return airfare: One round-trip economy flight to and from the employee’s home country per contract year
  • Professional development: Access to Cambridge professional development resources and in-house pedagogical support
  • Collaborative environment: A small, focused team with direct access to senior project leadership and genuine input into curriculum design
