Purpose of the Role:

The primary purpose of the Financial Analyst role is to support strategic and operational decision-making by providing accurate financial models, data-driven insights, and clear evaluation of business initiatives. The Financial Analyst transforms complex data into structured analysis, forecasts, and actionable recommendations that help the company improve performance, manage risks, and allocate resources efficiently.

By validating business assumptions with numbers, monitoring plan-vs-actual performance, and ensuring the reliability of financial calculations, this role enables leadership to make informed decisions quickly and confidently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Modeling

• Build and maintain financial models (plan vs. actual, forecasts, scenario analysis: base/best/worst cases).

• Conduct sensitivity analysis of key business drivers and assumptions.

• Ensure models are structured, transparent, and easy to interpret.

2. Business Hypothesis Testing

• Evaluate the financial impact of business changes (pricing, terms, budgets, resources, operational processes).

• Quantify expected outcomes and risks.

• Provide clear conclusions: hypothesis confirmed/not confirmed, under which conditions.

3. Variance Analysis

• Analyze deviations between plan and actual results.

• Identify key drivers and root causes of changes.

• Prepare structured explanations and recommendations.

4. Quality Control of Calculations

• Review logic of formulas and financial assumptions.

• Ensure consistency of units, correct signs, and data integrity.

• Maintain reproducibility and auditability of financial models.

5. Data Improvement for Analytics

• Define requirements for data exports and reporting formats.

• Establish standards for financial tables and inputs.

• Collect, structure, and validate input data for analysis.

Expected Outcomes:

• Financial models are transparent, logically structured, and clearly documented.

• Business hypotheses are supported by numbers and clear financial conclusions.

• Management can easily make decisions based on structured analytical insights.

• Forecasting and plan-vs-actual analysis become faster and more accurate over time.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in financial/business analytics or financial modeling

• Advanced Excel skills: model structure “Input → Calc → Output,” scenario analysis (base/best/worst), sensitivity analysis for key assumptions

• Ability to formulate and test business hypotheses: define what is being tested, data sources, metrics, and decision criteria

• Ability to communicate results concisely: conclusion + recommendation + limitations/risks

• Strong accuracy in calculations: validation of logic, units of measurement, and reasonableness of results

• Ability to work independently: build models from raw inputs and deliver actionable conclusions
