About the Role:

We are looking for well qualified and experienced English Language Instructors to join our teaching team at the Coventry University English Language Centre. The ideal candidate should be passionate about teaching, have experience in teaching General English and IELTS preparation offline, and be committed to delivering high-quality, student-centered lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective English language lessons (General English, Academic English, IELTS preparation)
• Plan and adapt lessons in accordance with CEFR standards (A1–C1)
• Design lessons to meet diverse learners’ needs
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback
• Prepare students for international exams (IELTS or equivalent)
• Conduct placement testing and mock assessments
• Participate in curriculum development, programme improvement initiatives and academic meetings
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
• Contribute to speaking clubs, workshops, and extra academic activities

Essential Requirements:

• CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) — mandatory
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of offline teaching experience
• Proven experience preparing students for IELTS
• Strong understanding of CEFR framework
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to work with diverse student groups

Preferred:

• Native or near-native level English language proficiency
• DELTA or equivalent advanced teaching certification
• Experience working in international universities or language centers
• Familiarity with modern EdTech platforms and LMS systems
