Finance director in Istanbul, Turkey (knowledge of Turkish is a must)

Responsibilities:

•Act as the senior finance leader for the Turkish market, partnering with the Country Manager and HQ to support commercial strategy and operational decisions.

•Build the full finance function, including policies, processes, internal controls, and reporting structure.

•Deliver financial insights, profitability analysis, cost optimization, and scenario modelling to support pricing, investments, and market development.

•Ensure accurate financial records compliant with local regulations and IFRS standards.

•Lead monthly, quarterly, and year end closing activities and prepare all statutory and management financial reports.

•Manage budgeting, forecasting, KPI tracking, and financial performance dashboards.

•Ensure full tax compliance and manage relationships with tax advisors and auditors.

•Lead cash flow management, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.

•Manage treasury activities, banking relationships, and FX exposure.

•Oversee external partners such as audit firms, outsourced accounting providers, tax consultants, and legal advisors.

•Implement strong internal controls, governance, and risk management processes.

•Support HQ reporting, consolidation needs, and alignment with Group policies.

•Build and lead a small local finance team as the organization scales.

Requirements:

•. Fluency in English and TURKISH is required.

•. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/ACCA/CIMA preferred.

•. Minimum 8–10 years of relevant finance experience, including strong exposure to financial control, reporting, and business partnering.

•. Big 4 audit background is a strong plus.

•. Experience in FMCG, distribution, consumer goods, or similar industries preferred.

•. Experience in start up, market entry, or scale up environments is highly advantageous.

•. Strong understanding of accounting principles and IFRS reporting standards.

•. Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability.

•. Strong stakeholder management skills and experience partnering with senior leadership.
