Junior Associate, Litigation and Dispute Resolution

Responsibilities
Legal Research and Case Preparation:
- Research procedural and substantive law applicable to assigned disputes;
- Prepare legal memorandum, case summaries, and analytical notes for senior lawyers.
- Drafting Litigation Documents:
- Draft and review statements of claim, defences, appeals, motions, and other procedural documents;
- Assist in drafting correspondence with courts, arbitral institutions, and counterparties.
Case Management and Coordination:
- Monitor case deadlines, court schedules, and procedural timelines;
- Coordinate document collection, e-discovery, and evidence preparation.
Client Communication:
- Communicate with clients to gather facts and documents;
- Keep clients updated on case progress under supervision of senior lawyers.
Documentation and Due Diligence:
- Prepare and organize case files and bundles for hearings;
- Conduct factual and legal due diligence in connection with disputes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law (required);
- A Master of Laws (LLM) degree is preferable,
- Understanding of civil procedure, contract law, and dispute resolution mechanisms (litigation, arbitration, mediation);
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills;
- Attention to detail and accuracy in procedural document preparation;
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines;
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with legal research databases and court room;
- Previous experience or internship in a litigation, arbitration, or court environment;
- Knowledge of Kazakhstani civil procedural law, enforcement proceedings;
- Knowledge of English, Russian and Kazakh.
