The Lycée International Français d’Almaty (LIFA) is recruiting a native English-speaking teacher as part of its founding team.
LIFA is a French international school aligned with the AEFE framework, opening its first classes in 2026, with a strong academic focus and a structured plurilingual pathway.
Position Overview
- Teaching load: 16 hours/week (academic teaching)
- Additional duties: 2 hours/week (English Club)
- Total FTE: 0.7 (may be additional hours)
- Students: Ages 3 to 7 (Early Years and Grade 1)
- Annual pedagogical meetings: 80 hours included in workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English to young learners (3–7 years old) in a structured and immersive environment
- Contribute to a plurilingual curriculum, with English integrated into daily learning
- Deliver approximately 30% of selected subjects in English (arts, science, discovery-based learning)
- Work in close collaboration with French homeroom teachers (co-planning, co-teaching where relevant)
- Lead an English Club (oral practice, games, cultural exposure)
- Participate actively in pedagogical meetings, curriculum development, and school life
Profile
- Native English speaker (mandatory)
- Degree in Education or relevant field
- Experience teaching young children (Early Years / Primary)
- Strong classroom management and ability to engage young learners
- Experience in bilingual or international environments is a significant advantage
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multilingual team
- Sensitivity to French educational culture or willingness to adapt to it
Contract & Conditions
- Fixed-term contract (10 months)
- Possibility of renewal or transition to a longer-term contract
