Head of IT Department

Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement the university’s IT strategy aligned with institutional goals.

Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve academic and administrative processes.

Establish policies, standards, and procedures for IT governance, data security, and system integration.

Operational Management

Oversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software systems.

Ensure reliable and secure operation of the university’s IT systems and services.

Manage IT support teams and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.

Monitor system performance, implement upgrades, and maintain high service availability.

Cybersecurity & Data Management

Ensure data protection, cybersecurity, and compliance with relevant national and international standards.

Develop disaster recovery and data backup plans.

Conduct regular security assessments and risk management reviews.

Academic & Research Support

Provide IT solutions to support teaching, learning management systems (LMS), and research platforms.

Collaborate with academic departments to identify and integrate new educational technologies.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and evaluate IT staff performance and professional growth.

Foster a culture of innovation, service excellence, and accountability.

Education:

Master’s degree (or higher) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in IT management or administration.

Proven experience in managing large-scale IT infrastructure and digital transformation projects.

Experience in higher education or research institutions is a strong advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Excellent knowledge of IT governance, networking, cybersecurity, and systems administration.

Experience with ERP, LMS, and database management systems.

Fluency in English (knowledge of Uzbek and/or Russian is an advantage).
