Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager / Senior Sales Consultant to join our team in Japan and help grow our international used car export business.
Our company exports cars from Japan to overseas customers in Europe, the USA, Africa, Oceania, and other markets. Because Japan’s time zone is well aligned with many international markets, this role is very important for handling customer inquiries quickly and professionally, converting leads into sales, and building a strong sales team.
This person will be responsible not only for selling cars, but also for improving the sales process, managing inquiries, coaching sales staff, and helping us build a more organized and effective sales operation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Reply to customer inquiries from website, email, WhatsApp, social media, and other channels
- Follow up with leads and convert inquiries into sales
- Search for and develop new leads and business opportunities
- Build strong relationships with overseas customers and partners
- Help customers choose suitable vehicles based on budget and requirements
- Explain the buying process, auction process, shipping, inspections, and export procedures
- Negotiate with customers and close deals professionally
- Use CRM system properly to manage leads, tasks, follow-ups, and communication history
- Improve sales workflow and response speed
- Hire, train, coach, and monitor new sales consultants
- Set sales targets and help the team achieve them
- Report sales performance, team activity, and lead quality to management
- Work closely with management to improve scripts, customer handling, and sales strategy
Requirements:
- Proven experience in car sales, used car export, or automotive trading
- Experience working with international customers
- Strong understanding of customer communication, negotiation, and closing sales
- Experience using CRM systems and sales pipelines
- Experience managing, coaching, or mentoring sales staff
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Organized, responsible, proactive, and results-oriented
- Able to work independently and take ownership of the sales process
- Good understanding of time-sensitive lead handling and follow-up
- Experience in Japanese car auctions, shipping, export documents, or automotive logistics is a big plus
- Additional languages are a plus
