Manual QA Engineer (Mid-Level)

We are seeking an experienced Manual QA Engineer to join our team and contribute to the quality assurance for our browser-based business simulation game.

Responsibilities

Regression and Release Testing — executing regression test suites, analyzing failed results, identifying root causes, and assisting with test execution during release cycles.

Continuous Quality Improvement — supporting ongoing QA process improvements, identifying optimization opportunities, and contributing to higher product stability and quality across releases.

Test Analysis and Design — analyzing requirements, designing and documenting Test Cases, Checklists, and other QA assets.

Collaboration with QA and Development Teams — working closely with QA and Development teams under Agile methodology to ensure product quality and efficient delivery.

Test Automation — contributing to automated testing by writing automated test cases based on existing manual tests within an already established automation framework (CodeceptJS/Playwright).

Infrastructure and Deployment Support — investigating and addressing test or deployment-related infrastructure issues, ensuring stable and smooth test environment execution.

Team Involvement — participating in planning, kickoffs, demos, and other team meetings to stay aligned with project goals and upcoming features.

We have five QA engineers (Russian, Armenian, and Ukrainians), and five developers (Ukrainian, Belarusian, Kyrgyzstani, Russian, and Georgian). Team meetings are typically conducted in Russian; our JIRA tickets and documentation are in English.

We have three software projects. Our browser-based simulation game app is built with Angular, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. Our team has built the world’s most advanced browser-based business sim game platform, which our clients love. We also have a WordPress project and a custom app (for profiles, feedback, and assessments).

Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in manual QA for web applications.

• Strong understanding of core QA processes: test analysis, test design, requirement analysis, and creation of high-quality testing documentation (test cases, checklists, defect reports, test plans).

• Experience with Web UI testing across modern browsers.

• Experience with REST API testing and validation.

• Understanding of automation concepts and ability to write tests within an existing framework.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and ability to work effectively in distributed teams.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to plan test coverage, assess risks, and provide clear testing estimates.

• Experience participating in STLC within sprints.

• Solid communication skills and the ability to coordinate work with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Russian and English.
