Remote Sensing Specialist
Responsibilities:
Provide TCO with GIS and Remote Sensing expertise, with regards to different remote sensing techniques such as sensors mounted on satellites, aircraft, drones, or other platforms, capturing data using electromagnetic radiation (visible light, infrared, microwave, etc.).
Ensure that remote sensing data requirements and projects are defined, implemented and aligned to TCO strategies and requirements.
Ensure effective and quality assured remote sensing data capture, processing, analysis and management.
The quality control, validation and integrity of all remote sensing data and metadata in accordance with TCO standards and procedures.
Provision of cartographic and remote sensing data products to meet customer requirements.
Interoperability and liaison with all TCO personnel concerning remote sensing data and its management.
Liaise and interface with suppliers of remote sensing geospatial data and services.
Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Engineering or related field.
> 5 years of relevant aerial or satellite imagery and data processing and analysis experience.
Experience working with and manipulating raster data.
Experience with ArcGIS and remote sensing processing software are required for this job.
Experience in recommending and advising suitable aerial/satellite image platforms and instruments and products.
Outstanding quantitative skill set.
