Electrical Technician

Job Purpose

To perform electrical maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair activities on plant electrical equipment in compliance with maintenance procedures, HSE and quality standards, ensuring safe and reliable plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily and preventive electrical maintenance activities as per schedule and ACWA and ACWA Operation procedures

• Troubleshoot and respond to electrical failures to minimize downtime

• Inspect electrical equipment and report abnormalities to Electrical Engineer / Supervisor

• Maintain maintenance logs and records of work performed

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in transformers, motors, relays, switches, control and monitoring systems

• Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and drawings

• Support inventory control by checking spare parts stock levels

• Ensure strict compliance with HSE, fire safety and environmental regulations

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Technical Exposure (Preferred Areas)

Experience or willingness to develop expertise in one of the following:

• Transformers, Rectifiers & Electrolysers

• LV / HV equipment, 35kV switchyard & relay panels

• DCS, PLC & SCADA systems

• Pumps, Motors & Compressors

Requirements

Education:

• Technical Certificate or Associate’s Diploma in Electrical Maintenance

Experience:

• 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a plant or industrial environment

Skills & Knowledge:

• Practical knowledge of electrical plant equipment

• Strong troubleshooting skills

• Awareness of HSE and quality standards

• Ability to work effectively in a team

• ISO knowledge is an advantage

• English proficiency (reading, writing and listening)
