Job Purpose
To plan, supervise, and ensure the safe execution of all lifting and rigging operations on the project site in accordance with ACWA Power standards, project lifting plans, and local and international safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Review and approve contractor lifting plans, method statements, and rigging studies.
Ensure lifting equipment is certified, maintained, and operated in line with project and regulatory standards.
Supervise critical and non-critical lifting operations to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
Assess load weight, lifting radius, crane capacity, ground conditions, and environmental factors.
Verify that crane operators, riggers, and signalers are certified and competent.
Monitor lifting activities involving heavy equipment, wind turbine components, transformers, and structural steel.
Ensure exclusion zones, tag lines, emergency procedures, and weather limits are applied.
Stop unsafe lifting operations and report non-conformities.
Support incident investigations related to lifting operations.
Coordinate with Construction, HSSE, and QA/QC teams.
Deliver toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings.
Maintain lifting records, inspection checklists, and equipment certification logs.
Prepare weekly reports on major lifts, safety observations, and compliance gaps.
Health & Safety
Ensure all lifting operations comply with OSHA, LOLER, BS, ISO standards and national regulations.
Support lifting audits, inspections, and continuous improvement of lifting safety practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Structural, or Construction Engineering.
Recognized Lifting Supervisor or Appointed Person certification (CPCS, OPITO, or equivalent).
6–8 years of experience in lifting and rigging operations on energy or infrastructure projects.
Experience with mobile and tower cranes, hoists, gantries, and heavy lifting operations.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of lifting operations, rigging methods, and crane load charts.
Knowledge of international lifting standards (LOLER, BS 7121, ASME B30) and Uzbek regulations.
Ability to assess risks and implement safe systems of work.
Strong site supervision and inspection skills.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Ability to read engineering drawings and lift plans.
Fluent in Uzbek and Russian; English is an advantage.
