Compliance officer

As we continue to grow internationally, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Compliance Officer to join our team and strengthen the integrity of our operations.

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that our global payroll processes meet all legal, regulatory, and internal policy standards. You will help maintain the highest levels of compliance, mitigate risk, and support our mission of delivering reliable and compliant payroll solutions to clients around the world. Your work will make a direct impact on the trust our partners and customers place in Stape every day.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 🙏

• Design, implement, and maintain the compliance strategy for a leading global payroll service provider.
• Develop and apply a risk-based approach to customer and partner screening.
• Monitor and assess company activities to ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with the product team to integrate AML and compliance tools into Stape’s services.
• Lead compliance training and education initiatives across the company.
• Work closely with partners to build a sustainable, compliant, and legally sound global infrastructure.

SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR 😊

• At least 3 years of experience as a Compliance Officer, ideally within fintech, payroll, or financial services.
• AML / FATF certifications and completed professional training (e.g. via the International Compliance Association).
• High level of self-motivation with the ability to set goals and build processes independently in a fast-growing, non-bureaucratic environment.
• Strong knowledge of US, EEA, and UK regulations, with a solid legal understanding of compliance and AML frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — you enjoy working with people and building trust across teams and partners.
