YouTube Shorts Script Writer

Next Gen Lab is looking for a script writer to join the team behind Stranger Than Fiction Brand— an exciting new animation channel on American YouTube.

About the Project
Stranger Than Fiction creates exciting mini documentaries and docudramas focused on crime, guns, prison escapes, scary stories, legends and interesting facts.

Our goal is to build one of the premier animated channels in 2026.

Key Goals:

• 50 Shorts Videos Produced Per Month

• 200 Million Views Per Month

• 1,000,000 Subscribers

What You’ll Do:
- Ideate and write 15-25 short-form scripts per week (35-75 seconds each)
- Research and source compelling stories of crimes, escapes, historical oddities, legends, and scary narratives
- Craft scripts following our proven structure: visceral action-first hooks that drive intrigue → "You see" context bridges → dark escalation → punchy ironic payoffs
- Verify factual accuracy and clearly label stories as FACT, LEGEND, or UNCERTAIN

What We’re Looking For:
- Strong writing samples (short-form scripts preferred)
- Mastery of opening hooks that drop viewers into confusing, compelling action within the first sentence
- Ability to write punchy, direct language—no filler, no passive voice
- Understanding of what makes content go viral: curiosity gaps, dark escalation, and "wait, WHAT?" payoffs
- Research skills to find obscure, underexplored stories
- Commitment to factual accuracy—we don't present unverified stories as fact
