Senior SAP Consultant

Smart IT is looking for an experienced Senior SAP Consultant to support complex international SAP S/4HANA transformation programs. The role focuses on end-to-end solution design, advanced planning and execution processes, and close collaboration with both business stakeholders and technical teams.

The consultant will act as a subject matter expert and solution lead, contributing across implementation, integration, pre-sales, and business support activities within large, multi-country SAP landscapes.

What your responsibilities may include:

• Consulting and Solution Design
  • Understand business and project requirements and design robust, scalable SAP S/4HANA solutions aligned with SAP best practices
  • Lead fit-gap analysis using SAP standard, Model Company, and EML-based S/4HANA content
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert within assigned SAP solution areas, contributing to overall solution architecture and key design decisions
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of end-to-end business processes across modules and systems
  • Support system integration initiatives, including M&A, carve-outs, and landscape harmonization
• Planning and Execution Processes
  • Design and optimize planning and execution processes across the SAP S/4HANA landscape
  • Configure and govern master data, planning parameters, and execution-relevant settings
  • Support advanced planning scenarios, including finite-capacity planning, detailed scheduling, sequencing, and re-sequencing
  • Define planning strategies, time fences, firming concepts, and exception-handling approaches
  • Enable proactive issue resolution using alerting, exception monitoring, and guided remediation
  • Support integration with adjacent SAP solutions such as IBP, Digital Manufacturing, or other planning and execution systems where applicable
• Business Support and Delivery
  • Provide day-to-day consulting support for key users and business stakeholders
  • Analyze incidents, change requests, and enhancement requirements and translate them into sustainable functional or technical solutions
  • Act as an escalation point for complex process or system issues during implementation and productive operations
  • Contribute to system stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement after go-live
• Technical Collaboration
  • Work closely with development teams to define functional and technical specifications
  • Review and validate enhancements, reports, interfaces, and user experience adaptations
  • Ensure technical solutions align with SAP architecture principles, performance requirements, and long-term maintainability
  • Support testing, defect resolution, and acceptance activities
• Pre-sales and Customer Engagement
  • Support pre-sales activities, including solution workshops, RFP responses, and proposal preparation
  • Prepare and deliver SAP S/4HANA demos and PoC tailored to customer requirements
  • Advise customers on SAP S/4HANA capabilities, roadmap options, and implementation approaches
  • Support the transition from pre-sales to delivery and provide continuity into project execution

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in SAP environment
• Strong understanding of and extensive hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA in international implementation, rollout, or transformation programs
• Proven ability to design and govern end-to-end SAP solutions beyond individual modules
• Experience working with complex planning, execution, or integration scenarios in SAP environments
• Ability to operate as a Senior or Principal-level subject matter expert, influencing solution decisions and guiding teams
• Strong experience working in international and distributed project environments
• Experience with SAP standard content, Model Company, and structured implementation methodologies
• Good understanding of SAP development fundamentals, including ABAP-based enhancements, interfaces, and SAP Fiori

Bonus points:

• Knowledge of advanced planning concepts and system integration patterns is a strong advantage
• Experience in planning-intensive environments such as manufacturing, automotive, or process industries
• Knowledge of SAP IBP, aATP, or SAP Digital Manufacturing
• Pre-sales or customer-facing advisory experience
• Lead consultant, solution architect, or program-level responsibilities in SAP initiatives
