Key Responsibilities
1. Career Guidance and Student Support
- Deliver one-to-one and group career guidance sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Support students in identifying career goals, developing realistic action plans, and improving job search strategies.
- Provide practical advice on CVs, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and interview preparation.
- Ensure guidance is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and aligned with both Kazakhstani and international employment contexts.
2. Careers Education and Employability Skills
- Design and deliver employability workshops and career development sessions in collaboration with academic departments.
- Contribute to embedding employability skills into the curriculum where appropriate.
- Support students’ development of transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, and professional behavior.
3. Internships and Work-Based Learning (Shared Responsibility)
- Support the coordination and monitoring of student internships and work placements in collaboration with Corporate Partners and academic teams.
- Assist in matching students to appropriate opportunities aligned with their academic discipline and career interests.
- Maintain regular contact with students and employers to ensure placement quality and positive learning outcomes.
- Collect feedback from students and employers to support continuous improvement of internship provision.
4. Employer Engagement and Student Opportunities
- Support the promotion of job vacancies, internships, graduate programs, and volunteering opportunities to students.
- Maintain awareness of local and regional labor market trends to inform guidance and programming.
- Encourage and support student participation in employer events, alumni talks, and networking activities.
5. Data, Systems, and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of student engagement, guidance sessions, and internship participation using internal systems.
- Contribute to basic data analysis and reporting to support service evaluation and planning.
- Assist with preparing reports and KPIs for internal stakeholders.
6. Careers Events and Projects
- Contribute to the organization and delivery of careers fairs, employer panels, and themed careers initiatives.
- Support the development and maintenance of online careers resources and digital content.
Person Specification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 1–3 years’ relevant experience in careers guidance, student services, recruitment, employability, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse student body.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Interest in graduate employability and understanding labor market trends.
- Postgraduate qualification or professional training in careers guidance, coaching, or education.
- Familiarity with career management systems.
- Understanding international graduate outcomes and employability frameworks (UK or EU experience is an advantage).
