GSU Construction Specialist

Performs construction site/fabrication yard representative functions in one or more construction and commissioning disciplines.

Plays a key role in interfacing with the construction and commissioning contractor.

Supports and coordinates internal interactions within TCO with Operations, TCO HES, TCO Construction departments.

Member of the GSU Project Team. Reports to GSU Construction Team Lead. Daily interface with construction contractors on safety, execution, construction planning related matters.

Contributes and takes responsibility of the assigned construction Scope of Work in accordance with cost and schedule requirements.

Support Project Planning Team in identifying risk areas and providing recommendations on mitigations. Being a safety leader at site. Encourage safety culture on construction site and within GSU Project Organization

Candidate should have Higher Technical education in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Area.

At least 5-7 years of active Site Construction Experience. Experience in managing interface with two or more construction contractors simultaneously. Candidate should be familiar with TCO Construction Safety practices and requirements. TCO experience is preferable. Good site communication skills.

Fluent in Kazakh and Russian (Speaking/Writing), English language is a plus.

Good technical knowledge of construction project documentation (Job Pack) in civil, piping and mechanical discipline, basic technical knowledge of electrical construction documentation is a plus.

Ability to provide training and guidance for newly hired specialists. Identifies areas for improvement and works with control personnel to develop and implement enhancements. Candidate shall maintain a strong level of expertise in construction methods in respective area and participate in the construction project management team for multidisciplinary construction projects at a plant or production site under the supervision of a construction supervisor. The work involves mentoring construction specialists, as well as expert review and comment on job packs within the discipline.

Demonstrates the ability to expand collaboration with departments such as Maintenance, Production, Reliability Assurance, Operations, Loss Prevention and Engineering.

Responsible for personal safety, contractor safety and safety performance within the construction team. Works closely with project engineering teams in evaluating and promoting project readiness for site construction activities. Verifies the availability and suitability of all resources on site for the successful completion of field activities. Responsible for the effective execution of work within the assigned area of SGR project. Acts as a subject matter expert across multiple disciplines, participating in Safety Audits, SID Reviews, Turnaround Planning, and constructability reviews. Responsible for managing contractor safety (CHESM), including investigation of all unsafe actions by personnel, construction activities, or MVC.
