Operational Controlling Manager – Finance

We are currently looking for an Operational Controlling Manager – Finance to join our Finance team. This role will be responsible for overseeing financial performance, driving cost efficiencies, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial controlling, budgeting, and operational analysis within the retail or FMCG sector.

Responsibilities:

Business Partnering & Decision Support

• Partner with Store Operations, Real Estate, Supply Chain, IT, HR and other departments teams to drive profitability and efficiency;
• Develop and improve business processes to enhance operational effectiveness;
• Provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

Financial Controlling & Reporting

• Monitor and analyze financial performance, ensuring accuracy in P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements;
• Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to track business performance;
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and financial regulations;
• Develop policies and procedures to strengthen control environment.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Provide input for the annual budgeting and forecasting process and assume responsibility for operating expenses part, working closely with operational teams;
• Provide variance analysis and recommend corrective actions;
• Support scenario planning and financial modeling for business growth strategies.

Operational Performance & Cost Control

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements across operations, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, HR & Payroll, IT and other departments;
• Collaborate with operational teams to optimize resource allocation and financial planning.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or other related discipline;
• Master’s degree in Finance is would be an advantage;
• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in similar role;
• Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning, and management reporting;
• Have the ability to convert data into meaningful information to use in analysis that is easy to understand;
• Possess sound knowledge of IFRS;
• Able to manage multiple deliverables/processes and adjust quickly to changes in the environment;
• Strong communication skills, ability to convey detailed information and advice in a clear and articulate manner;
• Solid Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems;
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives;
• Fluent Russian and English.
