Legal Counsel (Lawyer)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Counsel/Lawyer to support the legal operations of our automotive manufacturing plant in Kostanay. The role involves full legal support of the plant’s activities, ensuring compliance with National legislation, managing contracts, supporting regulatory interactions, and mitigating legal risks across all business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the company’s activities comply with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (civil, labor, environmental, industrial safety, tax, administrative, licensing, and other applicable laws).
• Monitor changes in legislation and promptly inform management about regulatory updates affecting the plant.
• Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure legal compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (procurement, supply, manufacturing, leasing, construction, services, confidentiality agreements, etc.).
• Conduct legal due diligence of contractors.
• Ensure proper contract execution, storage, and monitoring of obligations and deadlines.
• Support corporate procedures, including charter documentation, shareholder meetings, board resolutions, and management approvals.
• Interact with state authorities on matters related to registration, licensing, permits, and compliance reporting
• Support internal investigations and conflict resolution.
• Prepare legal opinions and representations for state inspections (labor, fire, environmental, industrial, financial).
• Support plant certification, audits, and compliance with industrial safety requirements.
• Represent the company in government agencies when necessary.
• Handle claim-pretrial procedures and represent the company in courts when required.
• Prepare official letters, responses, legal claims, and internal reports.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law.
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional legal experience, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, automotive, construction, or energy sectors.
• Experience working in an international company is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (civil, labor, administrative, environmental, industrial safety).
• Ability to draft and analyze complex legal documents.
• Experience interacting with government authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to support cross-functional teams.
• High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving skills

Languages:

• Kazakh – fluent
• Russian – fluent
• English – upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required)
