The AV Technician is responsible for the professional operation, maintenance, and support of all Audio Visual (AV) equipment within the hotel, including meeting rooms, ballrooms, public areas, and guest technology services. This role ensures the flawless execution of all hotel events, conferences, and daily operations requiring technical support, embodying the highest standards of luxury service
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot all AV equipment for meetings, conferences, and events. This includes microphones, projectors, screens, sound systems, lighting, and presentation equipment
- Act as the primary point of contact for guests and meeting planners regarding AV needs, providing prompt and professional technical assistance
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on all AV hardware and software to ensure all systems are in excellent working condition
- Maintain accurate inventory of all AV equipment and supplies, coordinating with management for necessary replacements or upgrades
- Ensure all AV services meet JW Marriott brand standards, delivering a seamless and sophisticated experience for all users
- Work closely with the Banquets, Sales, Engineering, and IT departments to coordinate event requirements and facility readiness
- Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical issues related to audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems
Candidate profile:
- Minimum of [Insert Number, e.g., 2-3] years of experience working as an AV Technician in a hotel, conference center, or related hospitality/corporate environment. Luxury brand experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of signal flow (audio and video), cabling, and common AV connectivity types (HDMI, VGA, XLR, etc.)
