KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Supervision and Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate all mechanical works HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and water supply systems.
- Ensure that all works comply with approved design documentation, specifications, and relevant standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO).
- Review design drawings and shop drawings for technical accuracy and applicability to site conditions.
- Organize and manage the mechanical construction process on site, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers involved in mechanical works.
- Ensure timely submission and approval of mechanical shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
- Verify compliance of actual site execution with approved drawings and resolve technical discrepancies in coordination with the project team.
Site Management, Inspection, and Execution Control
- Plan and organize daily and weekly work activities for all mechanical subcontractors.
- Supervise and inspect the execution of mechanical works to ensure compliance with the approved design, safety, and quality standards.
- Verify installation methods, tolerances, and sequencing for all mechanical systems and utilities.
- Check and confirm the quantities of completed works for interim and final payments (measurement sheets, work progress certificates, and site records).
- Review and validate subcontractors’ work progress reports, inspection requests, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Planning, and Procurement teams to ensure correct materials and equipment are available on time.
- Monitor manpower allocation and ensure optimal use of resources for mechanical activities.
- Prepare daily reports summarizing progress, issues, and required corrective actions.
Testing, Commissioning, and Documentation
- Organize and supervise the testing, balancing, and commissioning of all mechanical systems.
- Ensure functional verification of HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems before handover.
- Check and approve mechanical as-built drawings and final documentation for accuracy.
- Participate in preparing handover documents and verifying system performance and safety.
- Supervise all commissioning tests in coordination with consultants, authorities, and suppliers.
Coordination and Reporting
- Coordinate technical and construction activities among subcontractors, consultants, and internal departments.
- Participate in site meetings, submit progress reports, and highlight technical or schedule deviations.
- Support the Project Manager and Senior MEP manager in preparing and reviewing mechanical progress claims.
- Liaise with DMT, Civil Defense, and other regulatory authorities for inspections and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures and documentation standards related to mechanical works.
Team and Management
- Supervise mechanical site inspectors and technicians.
- Distribute tasks, monitor daily activities, and ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards.
- Provide mentoring and on-the-job technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Collaborate closely with QA/QC, Planning, and HSE teams to ensure compliance and efficiency on site.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Building Services Engineering from a recognized university.
- Equivalency Certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education – mandatory
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in the UAE within general contracting or EPC companies.
- Proven experience with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical services installation and commissioning.
- Deep understanding of ASHRAE, NFPA, DMT, ADDC, and Civil Defense requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to coordinate multiple teams and subcontractors.
- Fluent in English (Upper-Intermediate or higher); Arabic is an advantage.
