We are a fast-growing appliance repair company expanding into multiple U.S. states. We are looking for an Accounting Manager to build a reliable accounting backbone, ensure audit readiness, and drive automation. This is not a bookkeeper position — we have a bookkeeper in place — but you should be comfortable with bookkeeping tasks if needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize and maintain QuickBooks structure (Chart of Accounts, AR/AP, 1099s, multi-location tracking).
- Formalize monthly close procedures (by the 10th) and ensure consistency.
- Manage payroll across ADP, WorkMarket, and Remote (including overseas staff).
- Refine Ramp platform setup and explore additional features (bill pay, travel policies).
- Support accrual accounting implementation and AR control.
- Drive automation, including invoice sync from Field Management System (FMS) to QuickBooks.
- Coordinate with CPAs, tax advisors, and legal specialists.
- Prepare for audits with strong documentation and reconciliations.
- Build scalable GAAP-compliant processes for a multi-entity structure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a service or multi-location business.
- Strong QuickBooks Online skills; familiarity with GAAP, accrual accounting, and AR control.
- Experience with payroll platforms (ADP, WorkMarket, Remote) and expense tools (Ramp).
- Hands-on problem solver with attention to detail.
- Proactive, structured, and capable of designing processes from scratch.
- Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team.
Terms
- Remote position.
- Availability: 5/2 (standard business hours).
- Start: part-time, transition to full-time after trial period.
