Frontend Developer (Shopify)

Andersen is hiring a Frontend Developer (Shopify) for a digital solutions company. The project focuses on modernizing a sustainability platform by auditing and refactoring or rebuilding a legacy system.

The customer is a company specializing in high-performance digital solutions. It offers services such as full-stack development, speed optimization, AI strategy, and composable commerce. The company has completed over 100 successful digital transformations for industry leaders. It has revolutionized digital commerce with their API-first, microservices-driven architecture.

The project is a sustainability platform modernization, focused on auditing a legacy system and defining the best path forward through refactoring or full rebuild.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (including US-based PMs/sales) to align technical work with client expectations
• Designing and implement sophisticated front-end architectures using modern web technologies
• Acting as the primary Shopify expert, providing guidance on platform capabilities and custom app development
• Writing clean, reusable, well-tested code with a focus on performance and maintainability
• Optimizing applications for Core Web Vitals (LCP, FID, CLS) and SEO
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to architectural discussions around state management, caching, and deployment
• Working across the stack, integrating 3rd party APIs and custom backend services
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a collaborative, team-based environment
• Using AI to accelerate product development including use for code writing, code review, problem solving, and driving general efficiency and quality of development.

Must-haves:

• Professional experience in front-end development for 3+ years.
• Deep expertise in Shopify theme development with Liquid, HTML, SCSS/CSS, JavaScript, and Online Store 2.0; strong knowledge of Shopify admin, storefront, checkout customization, APIs, and best practices for performance, accessibility, and SEO.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus features (Shopify Scripts, checkout.liquid, Flow).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and basic asynchronous JavaScript (fetch/AJAX).
• Proficiency with utility-first CSS frameworks like TailwindCSS (optional but nice to have).
• Familiarity with common front-end tooling (e.g., Webpack, Vite, or esbuild).
• Ability to collaborate with designers and convert Figma/Sketch mockups into pixel-perfect themes.
• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and best practices for e-commerce.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with analytics implementations (Google Analytics, GTM).
• Experience with composable commerce architecture.
• Exposure to other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, BigCommerce, SFCC).
