Act as a responsible person on the rig for all the geological issues and provision of full geological support of the drilling («company man» on geology);
Evaluating all available offset data before the start of drilling;
Supervise and manage subcontractors for wellsite activities during drilling, completion and well testing
Supervision and QC of all wireline and mud logging services, DST and well testing services, CT and stimulation services
Following up wellsite activities 24/7 from the office and the wellsite, as required
Interaction with Drilling Supervisor on accessing weak zones, mud losses zones, oil and gas zones, identifying formation abnormalities and providing joint activities for avoiding incidents.
Plan and provide feedback of current well plan trajectory, acting as a geo-steerer if needed.
Generate and distribute geological related reports during drilling operation
Draw up and review technical reports and proposals
Manage the geological service reports including well final reports from subcontractors
Picking of formation tops, critical casing points and final TD.
Preparing Geological End of Well Reports after drilling operation;
Review and manage technical reports from drilling subcontractors;
Compliance with Company’s HSE regulations;
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering from recognized university. Advanced degrees or the courses from accredited institutions are considered as a plus.
Full proficiency in English (C1 and above).
A minimum of 10 years of total experience in oil and gas industry, particularly in operational geology and geological support of drilling.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in geo-steering (with triple combo log) and real-time operations.
A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in mud logging, open and cased hole wireline logging (including TLC), LWD, DST, well testing and stimulation jobs.
Experience in the supervising and managing subcontractors for wellsite activities.
Experience in casing setting depth justification and making tough decisions on suspending or continuing drilling.
A good understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, geophysics and Petrophysics.
Knowledge of using geological software (such as Petrel, Geolog) that are used for conducting reservoir development studies and drilling operations (mapping, correlation, well planning, etc.) is considered as a plus.
An Understanding of depositional environment, sedimentation and sequence stratigraphy is considered as a plus.
