Economist

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Collect data to be used in the economic evaluation and verify the consistency with main reporting systems, perform economic evaluation and analysis to provide main economic indicators supporting the evaluation of work in progress, correct capitalization accounting.

Prepare data/numbers for quarterly outlooks, forecasts, budget, strategic plan and business plan as well as to prepare relevant presentation material.

Perform variance analysis for each planning and actual closing activity, budget capital expenditures vs actual capex spending.

To ensure the updating of economic evaluation models pointing out possible changes in computation rules and market/legislation changes.

Work program and budget revisions and control process.

Full alignment and following to the agreements processes.

Preparation and agreement of estimations for equity notes, cash call requests, obtaining management confirmations in proactive manner. Ensure timely cash injections are fully aligned with approved schedule and other suppliers’ payments.

Ensure all audit processes in place and works properly regarding contracts conditions.

Analysis and good understanding of EPC contractual terms and conditions with financial impacts.

Qualifications & Experience:

The job holder must have:

• Bachelor/master’s degree in finance, accounting or economics.
• 3 years of relevant work experience in Oil & Gas, Energy or other relevant Industries.

Required Competencies and Skills:

• Good interpersonal & communication skills.
• Accuracy and team player.
• Capability to work with PC, MS office programs, strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
• Good verbal and written English.
• Projects economics evaluation techniques.
• Financial modelling.
• Overall understanding of main Financial Statements.
• Professional qualification related to budgeting, management accounting, financial modelling or reporting is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Office based, 5/2 scheduled work with business trips around KZ, when required.
