Camp Manager – Catering and Hotel Services

Location: Birlik, Tengiz, Kazakhstan

Work Schedule: Rotation-based, 28/28

We are looking a highly skilled and experienced Camp Manager to lead catering and hotel services operations at our remote site. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong leadership, organizational, and client service capabilities, who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to delivering excellence in food service and camp management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily catering operations, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and service
  • Coordinate booking, planning, and execution of catered events and special functions
  • Consult with clients on menus, cost estimates, and event logistics
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction before, during, and after events
  • Collaborate with culinary teams to develop and execute special event menus
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
  • Monitor staff performance, conduct training, and support skill development
  • Manage departmental budgets and maintain accurate expense records
  • Liaise with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders as required
  • Enforce company policies, labor protection standards, and internal procedures
  • Support other departmental projects and initiatives as directed by the Project Manager
  • Supervise housekeeping operations to maintain cleanliness and comfort across accommodation facilities
  • Maintain high standards of hospitality and customer service across all camp services
  • Implement feedback systems to improve resident satisfaction and service delivery

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Higher (postgraduate) or specialized secondary vocational education in a relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within catering or hospitality
  • Diploma or degree in hospitality or food & beverage management preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage teams and collaborate across departments
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and adapt to daily operational changes
  • Knowledge of Kazakhstan’s labor legislation, sanitary norms, and fire safety regulations
  • Familiarity with catering service regulations and operational management practice
