Senior QA Automation Engineer

I. Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 3+ years dedicated specifically to Test Automation.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing test automation frameworks from scratch (experience with Playwright and Cucumber).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and integrating automated tests into these workflows.
• II. Technical Skills (Must-Have):
• Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Test Automation Frameworks & Tools:
• Extensive experience with Playwright.
• Strong experience with API automation tools/libraries (e.g., REST Assured, Postman/Newman, SoapUI, Karate DSL).
• Familiarity with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) frameworks like Cucumber.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha).
• Version Control Systems: Proficient in using Git (or similar) for source code management, branching, merging, and pull requests.
• CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.
• Database Knowledge: Solid understanding and practical experience with SQL for querying and validating data in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server). Knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Operating Systems: Experience testing across different operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and environments.
• Web Technologies: Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful APIs) and how they interact.
• Test Management Tools: Experience with test management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar for test case management, defect tracking, and reporting.

• III. Technical Skills (Nice-to-Have / Bonus Points):

• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, K6, LoadRunner).
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and testing applications deployed in the cloud.
• Experience with microservices architecture testing.
• Understanding of security testing principles and tools.
• ISTQB certification (or equivalent).

• Experience conducting code reviews for automation scripts.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous in test case design, execution, and defect reporting.
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new technologies, tools, and processes.

• V. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks and scripts for web and API.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead efforts in defining test strategies, test plans, and test cases for new features and existing functionalities.
• Conduct code reviews for automation scripts written by other team members.
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers in test automation best practices.
• Analyze test results, identify and report defects, and work closely with development to ensure timely resolution.
• Continuously research and evaluate new testing tools, technologies, and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in all phases of the SDLC, from requirements gathering to deployment, advocating for quality at every stage.
